Torre Rioja – National Energy Award / EnerAgen 2017

MADRID 21 October 2017

  • The Cadiz Provincial Energy Agency (APEC) has been this year the host entity and coordinator of the 9th edition of these awards, which have awarded three awards and three honorable mentions, due to the quality of the candidacies presented this year, that have been endorsed by the agencies associated with EnerAgen.

The EnerAgen 2017 award in the category of best energy improvement performance in the field of renewable energy and/or energy efficiency has gone to the real estate company Torre Rioja, which has presented a comprehensive rehabilitation project for two office buildings of more than 44,000 meters squares in Madrid.

The jury has given an exceptional value to this project because it manages to integrate the most innovative solutions in saving and efficiency measures in combination with the use of renewable sources -solar thermal and photovoltaic-, achieving energy savings of around 3,200 toe/year, which represents an 60% reduction in initial consumption.

The jury for the 2017 National Energy Awards has been chaired by María Isabel Peinado Pérez, executive vice president of the Environment, Energy and Sustainability Foundation of the province of Cádiz. The members of the jury for this edition have been the Professor of the Department of Energy Engineering at the University of Seville, Servando Álvarez Domínguez; the general director of the Editorial Group El Instalador, Iñaki García Ocejo; the president of the Spanish Lighting Committee, Fernando Ibáñez Abaigar, and the expert in energy sustainability and senior consultant at the World Bank, Jaume Margarit. The manager of EnerAgen, Marga Rodríguez Prada, has been the secretary of the jury
